Attention food lovers everywhere! God wants you to enjoy your food!
As a matter a fact, new research from Tufts University Health & Nutrition shows that if you do not enjoy your food, it can be 70% less nutritional for you.
So the hamburger you eat can be better for you (and your body will absorb more nutrients) than if that same burger were served to you as drink, if you had eaten it in a rush or an unhappy atmosphere.
Why? They think it is the way your brain communicates to your digestive system in releasing chemicals that aid in digestion from your saliva and other secretions to prepare your body for absorption.
This is good news and reminds us to take the time to eat and have fun doing it. Think of what a loving God we have that made all this possible. How can anyone accuse God of not wanting us to have fun? He created enjoyment as an essential to good life! He gives us food AND even gives us the ability to enjoy! It is His gift.
Ecclesiastes (5: 18-20 NIV) says, "Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during his few days of life God has given him-for this is his lot.
Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work-this is a gift of God. He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart."
The next time you open your mouth to eat a good meal, give God the credit. He wants you to eat and be happy!
