Step Out Toward Death

/Hsiao-Ching

An atheist Olympic diver went to his indoor college pool to practice.

On this night, the moon was shinning through the glass ceiling so bright, he decided it was light enough for him to see. So he stepped on to the high board and turned his back toward the water, with heels hanging off the board, he stretched out his arms to begin his routine.

In this pose, he noticed the shadow on the wall appeared like Jesus on a cross. Immediately, he was convicted and stopped to pray. A friend had been witnessing to him and he remembered the prayer of salvation.

While on his knees, the pool maintenance man walked in and turned on the lights. The pool had been drained for repairs.

Now, take a moment to breathe the sigh of relief. The angels probably breathe this when they watch us go through our daily routines. Because this diver took time to stop and pray, his life was spared.

Each one of us stand on that same high board each day. We make choices, either toward life or death. If you choose to step out without God's consent, you are stepping into death. For the Bible says the wages of sin is death.

There are only two choices you make everyday. One is either on the path of God, or away from Him. You cannot serve two masters. Choose who you serve today. Stop and pray right now, ask God to be Lord of your life, before it is too late. Remember that, in a moment's time, your next step may be diving into a dry pool of death.
